Kalro promotes pineapple growing in Magarini, Kilifi

The Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organisation (Kalro) in partnership with the Kilifi government has begun an aggressive campaign for large-scale growing of pineapples.

This is after research conducted by Kalro showed Magarini Sub-County is ideal for growing smooth cayenne pineapple variety.

Dr Lawrence Muragwa, the Kalro Head of Seed Unit, said: “Pineapples grown in Kilifi are the sweetest in the country.”
